Dr. Randall Dupont is a Professor of Management at Louisiana State University of Alexandria, where he serves as Dean of the College of Business and holds the LSUA Alumni and Friends Endowed Chair. He had a 20-year career in rural electrification before entering academia. Internationally, Dr. Dupont led a multi-year Asian Development Bank-sponsored project to introduce free-market reforms to the electric utility industry in the central European republic of Croatia following its war of independence.  In a separate four-year project, this time through the U.S. Agency for International Development, Dupont aided the Bangladesh government’s effort to bring electricity to rural, impoverished areas of the country

by redesigning the national academy’s educational program to train 30,000 rural electrification workers. In addition, he led numerous management and leadership seminars for rural electric CEOs at BRAC University in Dhaka.

Dr. Dupont is a native of Louisiana with family in Avoyelles and Evangeline parishes. Before returning to Louisiana, he served as an Associate Professor of Business at the University of Mobile, where he received that university’s teaching and research awards. He has 30-plus conference presentations to his credit in addition to several published articles and book reviews. His primary areas of research are employment and occupational dynamics. Currently, he publishes the LSUA CENLA Economic Dashboard, a monthly publication that monitors the economic pulse of central Louisiana and is distributed to 3,000 local business and community leaders, and leads Leadership CenLA, a joint leadership development program sponsored by the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce and the LSU Alexandria.
