Dr. Heather Spillers Poole
Executive Vice Chancellor, CLTCC
Heather Spillers Poole is a firm believer that professional women can have it ALL (a happy, fulfilled personal life with a respected professional life)! She is a Louisiana native that loves her state and believes that education is the great equalizer that can truly transform lives. She began her career in higher education over 25 years ago at the Board of Regents where she worked in a number of capacities primarily serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Assessment and Economic Development.
Heather is especially passionate about higher education in central Louisiana. She has served as the Executive Director and Dean of the Learning Center for Rapides Parish as well as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Louisiana State University of Alexandria. While at LSUA she created and launched University Academy (a dual enrollment high school) that has continued to grow over the last 7 years.
In January 2015, she embarked on a new higher education mission with Central LA Technical Community College where she serves as Executive Vice Chancellor and is also CLTCC’s Director of Foundation Relations. With a great team, CLTCC has had an amazing “come-back story”. Since joining CLTCC they have continued to see steady enrollment growths and increased community partnerships.
Heather earned both her undergraduate degree and her Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University, and completed her Doctorate in Higher Education (with a concentration in Leadership) from Louisiana Tech. Heather is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. She serves on a number of boards and is active in numerous civic organizations.
Heather is “happily married” to Scott Poole. She is the proud mom of four children: Matthew 27 (LSUHSC-NO), Cameron 21 (USMC), EmmaScott 13 and Isaac 12 (ACDS).
