Dr. Mary E “Beth” Palmer

Dr. Beth Palmer comes to us after 24 years at Texas Woman’s University, 35 years in Higher Education, and 6 years in middle and high school public school systems. She holds her MBA and Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University, and a Master’s of Education from North Texas State University. She is an alumna of Louisiana College, Class of 1981 and participated four years as an athlete. Her research interest has focused on “The Direct Impact of Team Cohesiveness and Leadership on Team Success in Division I Women’s Basketball”. During her 35 year journey, she has served as an undergraduate and graduate faculty member, coached basketball for 20 years, directed a nationally recognized Fitness and Recreation program for over 4 years, and has done presentations nationally and internationally. She also served for 5 years in the Texas State Guard.
Beth’s favorite thing to do is working with her husband Howard (LC Class of ’80) on their property in Longleaf, La. She is originally from Forest Hill, La. Beth has one child, Nelson, who serves in the United States Air Force, and a daughter-in-law, Julia.
She is excited about being back at LC and looking forward to serving our alumni.
